For our young and passionate team in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Strategic Buying Lead. Working in the Procurement team, you take a leading role in shaping our HelloFresh products on an ingredient level

As Strategic Buying Lead, you will focus on the profitability and performance of our supplier base by developing and implementing cross-category strategic sourcing processes, contract/vendor management practices, and by driving other areas of continuous improvement. We are looking for a hands-on, numbers-driven leader with a focus on impact and action.

You’ll be working on:

  • Managing, developing, and mentoring a team of Strategic Buyers, varying in experience. 
  • Developing and implementing standardized strategic sourcing practices across all Procurement categories
  • Overseeing and developing a comprehensive set of supplier/contract management processes, including systems and tools 
  • Leveraging internal/external networks and industry benchmarks to understand, recommend, and implement best practices that optimize processes, reduce risk, and increase profitability
  • Managing supply risk by building/fortifying a supplier base in alignment with company objectives and values, and emerging product needs
  • Developing procurement analytics frameworks (including market, supplier, and SKU analysis) to identify/prioritize opportunities for cost reduction
  • Developing a culture of continuous improvement, both internally and externally with our vendors, through data-driven reporting, effective project management, use of retrospectives, and by identifying new capabilities and processes that drive efficiency and improve our cost structure 
  • Building strong cross-functional relationships and partner with our supply chain team, our production centres, and our project delivery teams to drive both immediate and sustained benefits to the company and our customers
  • Being the subject matter expert in all things related to procurement and strategic sourcing

Are you our perfect new colleague?

You have at least 8 years of working experience in Consultancy or Procurement, preferably in FMCG. An innovative and strategic leader, with experience in leading and coaching a team of direct reports. You have deep knowledge of Procurement and continuous improvement. You are commercial and analytical, focused on and intrinsically motivated to get the best deal for HelloFresh. As a strong communicator, you know how to set up and finish projects successfully, how to update your progress, and how to manage a team with varying degrees of experience.

What does the recruitment process look like?
After applying we will look at your application. If we see a match, we will invite you for a video call to get to know each other. Are we still positive? Then we proceed to the assessment stage, where you will perform an assessment to determine if you have the necessary skills for the job. After that, we will schedule an online or in-person interview with the hiring team to get to know you better. If both sides are enthusiastic, we would like to plan a last chat with C Level.
