About the job

As the Senior Health and Safety Manager, you'll monitor, review and champion health and safety processes and policies in order to protect our staff, ensure we are legally compliant, and engage  staff in promoting safety. Work towards continuous improvement of processes, identify and rectify  safety issues, advise the business and site management on best practice for safety. Reporting directly into the FSQA Director, this role is ideal for an  experienced, hands on H&S Manager looking to manage the risks and changes in an FMCG  business as we grow.

What you will be doing:

  • Update, monitor and review Hello Fresh policies, processes, forms, reports and H&S audits.
  • Advise and train the management team on safety process, changes, accident investigation, best practice, area risk assessments  and all general safety enquiries.
  • Organise and lead staff engagement activities to promote safe practice and a safe working  culture.
  • Drive behavioural culture change programmes, across a large, complex, multi-shift operation
  • Create regular reports on safety and process improvement, including, accident investigation  status, safety issues, new initiatives and site strengths and weaknesses.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying and rectifying gaps,
  • Lead site safety training programmes including: induction, manual handling, and accident  investigation.
  • Own, review and perform new task and area risk assessments
  • Liaise and communicate with the operations team.
  • General administration tasks related to the health and safety.
  • Act as first point of contact for management, shop floor teams,  legal and local authorities in relation to  safety and.

Must have:

  • 5+ years of H&S experience in an operations/logistics company
  • Up to date with relevant H&S legislation and controls
  • NEBOSH DIPLOMA or equivalent.

Highly desirable:

  • Experience of working in food manufacturing
  • Chartered member of an industry body such as IOSH (CMIOSH) or equivalent

  • Experiencing managing people is preferable but not required.
